MEMBERSHIP types

GPDN aims to educate and inspire Canadian graduate students and postdoctoral fellows to develop and take action to achieve current and future career goals. Join our supportive network of professionals, where career development professionals and administrators share resources with other professionals, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows; establish collaborations; and advance graduate and postdoctoral training, research, and development.

We welcome and invite individuals from the following groups to become GPDN members:

Group A Icon: Institution

Group A: Regular member


Staff or faculty in a recognized post-secondary or research affiliate institution who supports graduate student and/or postdoctoral development.

$150/annually



Group B Icon: Corporate Building

Group B: Associate

(professional)


Professionals employed outside post-secondary or research affiliate institutions who support graduate students and/or postdoctoral fellows (e.g. members of Tri-Council, Conference Board of Canada, MITACS, etc.), professionals previously employed in the field undergoing a career transition, individuals working in post-secondary or research affiliate institutions but without a graduate student or postdoctoral fellow portfolio, or independent career coaches and consultant.

$150/annually

Group C Icon: Student

Group C: Associate

(graduate student and postdoctoral fellow) 


Currently enrolled graduate students or current postdoctoral fellows.

  • Access to member-only events (Annual Conference (additional fees apply), presenting at the Career Symposium)

  • Participation in the virtual National Call (presentations, workshops, and discussions that are held approximately 8 times per year)

  • Join or co-chair a Standing Committee

  • Join or lead a Community of Practice

  • Run to be elected to the Board of Directors

  • Voting rights

Group B: Associate

Additional terms of MEMBERSHIP

GPDN membership runs from November 1 to October 31. Membership dues are non-refundable and must be paid in full. There is no pro-rated membership if you join midway through the November 1 to October 31 time period.

Please note: Effective July 1, 2023 the GPDN membership period will be updated and run from July 1 to June 30. Current members, as of June 30, 2023, will have their membership remain active until October 31. Membership purchased as of July 1, 2023 will be for the new membership period. 

GPDN resources are member-generated and all GPDN members and associates agree not to use information or resources for personal and/or financial gain.

Eligibility for membership will be determined by the Membership Manager.  After completing a membership application form, you will be notified by email if/when you are approved. Thank you again for your interest in GPDN!

Types D’adhésion

Le RPESP a comme visée d'éduquer et d'inspirer les étudiants aux cycles supérieurs et les chercheurs postdoctoraux canadiens à prendre les mesures nécessaires pour atteindre leurs objectifs de carrière. Rejoignez notre réseau de soutien, au sein duquel les professionnels et les administrateurs du développement de carrière partagent des ressources avec d'autres professionnels et avec les étudiants aux cycles supérieurs et les chercheurs postdoctoraux. Vous aurez l’occasion d’établir des collaborations et de faire progresser la formation, la recherche et le développement des étudiants aux cycles supérieurs et des chercheurs postdoctoraux.
